Triphala | Yoga of Eating

In Indian culture, the herb Haritaki, is given so much reverence for promoting health that the image/ statue of the Medicine Buddha is often seen with the Haritaki fruit in his hand . It's a cultural belief that Haritaki, along with Amalaki and Bibhitaki ( the components of Triphala) will give you a long life and nurture like a Mother.

One can boil half a teaspoon of triphala powder in water and drink after it cools down. Triphala is usually taken on an empty stomach either in morning or at bedtime. Over time, it is not uncommon for Tripahala to be perceived as sweet tasting. This is usually an indication that the elements in the body are getting balanced.
